What I Have Lived For 吾之三愿

Healthy Chinese Food

Did the Chinese discover America?

Mount Huang 黃山

Mount Huang, also known as Huangshan (Chinese: 黄山; pinyin: Huángshān; literally Yellow Mountain[1]), is a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China. Today Tibet is one part of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The present Chinese name for Tibet, 西藏 (Xīzàng), is a phonetic transliteration derived from the region called Tsang (western Ü-Tsang). The Chinese name originated during the Qing Dynasty of China, ca. 1700. It can be broken down into “xī” 西 (literally “west”), and “zàng” 藏 (from Ü-Tsang).

The pre-1700s historic Chinese term for Tibet was 吐蕃. In modern Standard Mandarin, the first character is ...

[size=18]

One of the biggest Asian cinema events of 2008, “Painted Skin” is the latest film to draw inspiration from Pu Songling’s classic of Chinese literature “Strange Tales of Liaozhai”. Although the legendary King Hu actually directed a film back in 1993 with the same name and based upon the same material, Gordon Chan’s new version is more of a re-imagining, being more in the vein of other recent big budget ...
